Lockpoint – As Head of Communications for this specialist security company, working on defending ATMs (cash machines) from physical, Stan Abbott rebranded the business and managed an organisation-wide process of corporate change across all sectors of the business. These included not just communications systems and protocols but also internal security, marketing and data-gathering. Once again, Gravity partner Squidgy delivered key elements, including a new website. Gravity’s work across seven years helped to achieve a successful sale of the business in 2019.

Lundin – Gravity has provided business development advice to Lundin, an aviation maintenance managment IT developer based in the Faroe Islands and Romania.
Other key clients have included regional development agency, One North East, and specifically its work with SMEs via Regional Language Network and the China Business Council. Gravity also rescued for the agency a major European project in the transferability of data between EU states, R4eGov, and was a key player in a major European-funded project, which helped in the successful transformation of the historic city of Durham into a thriving tourism and business centre.
Gravity also boasts clients in various innovative sectors, including energy, food and drink and property.
I worked with Stan at Gill Airways, where he proved an innovative and effective thinker. He subsequently provided me with support at other companies, including Joyce Loebl, the ruggedised electronics manufacturer, and, most notably, at Lockpoint, where he was made Head of Communications and completely overhauled the company’s image and all its corporate systems so as to optimise our security.
Thanks to Gravity’s knowledge of the regional media, we quickly established a strong rapport with key influencers and media coverage of the Regional Language Network became a regular feature of the region’s business pages.
Stan enjoyed the absolute confidence of the senior management team and had considerable autonomy to act in a variety of innovative ways to ensure Gill Airways was never far from the public eye in North East England. He managed our key relationship with Air France and was also highly innovative in establishing cooperative sales and marketing agreements with other regional airlines across Europe.
Stan Abbott and Linda Tuttiett both have extensive board level experience: Linda was for some years Chief Executive at the highly innovative Hadrian’s Wall Heritage (latterly Hadrian’s Wall Trust), while Stan has served as a non-executive director at organisations, including European Commerical Office (Newcastle) and Théâtre Sans Frontières.
